NDI and the Government of Yemen hosted "Managing the Twin Transitions: Political
and Economic Reform in Emerging Democracies", a unique informal network for political, civic and economic leaders
from transitional democracies. The Forum was held in Sana'a, Yemen from June 27 to 30, 1999.
The Forum brought together political, civic and economic leaders - heads of state
and government, cabinet ministers, political party and parliamentary leaders, civil society activists and key players
in public and private sector economic reform - of countries advancing democratic reform.
