Cesar Estrada: Dear Participants, my name is Estrada and I represented
Guatemala and I'm sending to you all the greetings of the people of Guatemala. I'm going to be very brief because
of the limited time.
First I would like to thank the Yemeni government for its hospitality and I would like to thank also all the organizers
and the Yemeni people for this meeting, it was a great opportunity for us. I would like to emphasize a few points
such as the independence of the institutions in the government and paving the way for the involvement of women
and imposing the political ethics and the exchange, and more open exchange of the views with the developed countries
and the open [inaudible] which would enhance investment and employment and enhance the wealth of our country.
I would like to conclude by saying that the declaration of this forum should be sent not only to the present countries
but also to all the countries who might make use of it and we should have follow up committees in order to benefit
from this forum. We should also, and I would like to say that my country is ready to host a similar forum in the
future. Thank you all for your kindness.
Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada: And I would like now to the give the floor to the Macedonian delegation representative.
Speaker: …present people in this forum. It is my honor [inaudible] the President of the host nation, the
president of Yemen, Abdullah Saleh. Also I would like to say my greetings to President of Mali, Mr. Alpha Oumar
Konare. Also I would like to say my greetings to the Prime Minister of Yemen, Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Eryani, the President
of NDI, Mr. Kenneth Wollack, and also all the distinguished participants of this forum, ladies and gentlemen, my
name is Sejfedin Haruni and I come from Republic of Macedonia and from our republic I send you all the best messages,
a republic which is training democracy, which is trying to go as much further as we can towards democracy as we
understand democracy as great steps towards the prosperity of all the world.
This forum has made very great achievement to our tasks of this organization because there is participants from
all over the world in this forum and I hope that the participants will leave the big part of history behind so
we can talk more about democracy [inaudible]. Also I would like to say thank you to all the great forces of the
world that did help a lot to liberate Kosovo. I would like to thank you in the name of the Kosovo people and in
my own name as Albanians, and again thank you very much.
Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada: Thank you very much for the statement and I now give the floor to the distinguished
member of Mongolia.
Speaker: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Your Excellency President of Republic of Yemeni, Saleh, and Your Excellency
President of Mali, Konare, and Your Excellency President of NDI and Prime Ministers, Republic of Yemen and Namibia.
So I will be very short and so we began good job and we have done in this two and a half days very important part
of this job gathering here in beautiful city of Sana'a. Our people say beginning is good half of all. And I'm,
my delegation [inaudible] for those appreciation's which have been done by previous speakers and others of people
of Yemen and government of Yemen and NDI and other partners which make this job reality in [inaudible]. So [inaudible]
and challenge of emerging democracy is not fighting and finding winners and losers. Challenge of emerging democracies,
challenge of finding consensus, consensus not only in between political parties and this is finding consensus in
whole society, in being all members of society only winners. So, and we demonstrated also all together here.
So we have common final speech which contains and consists of the draft of declaration of our forum. So, and my
delegation is wholly supports this draft and so that's why in my [inaudible] final speech is really that declaration.
So thank you very much.
