<< BACK NDI Staff: Biographies Sighle Doherty Sighle Doherty is the administrative director with NDI's Executive Office. She is serving her second tour with the Institute, having earlier worked in the Executive Office from 1998 to 2003. For a year in-between her two stints at NDI, she served as press attaché at the Irish Embassy in Washington DC, a position she held through Ireland's presidency of the European Union in 2004. Ms. Doherty initially joined NDI while on a leave of absence from the Irish Foreign Service where she earlier served as consular and cultural attaché in the Irish embassy in Madrid and private secretary to the secretary general of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Dublin. She earned her BA in Political Science from University College Galway and post-graduate studies in Public Relations at Dublin City University.
