Judy Woods-Curran

Judy Woods-Curran is the director of employee relations at NDI where she is responsible for employee relations, recruitment, staff development, personnel actions and performance management. Judy joined the Institute in 2007, following a 25-year career in human resources management.

Previously, Judy served as the vice president of human resources at CBS Radio where she oversaw human resources functions for 180 radio stations. Earlier she directed employee relations for CBS Television and Radio Group and for Group W Broadcasting. In these positions, she managed recruitment, succession planning, key management development, affirmative action, legal compliance, competency based performance evaluations, and human resources policies and procedures. During this time, she also worked with the Center for Creative Leadership to design a leadership development program for CBS senior managers.

Judy started her human resources career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Boston and held a number of other HR management positions within Westinghouse and CBS in Pittsburgh, New York and Washington, D.C. She was educated at the University of Pittsburgh and La Salle University, earning her BA in Human Resources Management. She completed various human resources-related certificate programs at the New School for Social Research, Cornell University, Harvard University, Development Dimensions International and the Institute for Applied Management and Law. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
