Richard Glaub is NDI's resident director in Uzbekistan, managing programs with political parties and civil society. Richard joined the Institute in 2002 with more than 25 years experience consulting in political and public affairs. Before becoming an independent consultant, he was a senior vice president at Goddard Claussen/Porter Novelli, one of America's most prominent public affairs/public relations firms. Over the years, his political and public affairs clients have included numerous candidates for public office, political parties and some of America's best-known corporations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations. He developed a specialty in the design and management of initiative and referendum campaigns. During this time, Richard directed or consulted on more than 100 local, statewide, regional and national political and public affairs campaigns throughout the U.S.
Taking a leave from his regular duties, Richard spent one season as national promotion director for the highly acclaimed PBS documentary series "Frontline." His work has received awards from the Pacific Intermountain Network, the Western Educational Society for Telecommunications, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the New England Advertising Federation and the American Association of Political Consultants, among other organizations. He began his career as a journalist and documentary producer, but soon moved into the political realm, serving on the staff of U.S. Senator Frank Church (D-ID). He is a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and belongs to SABRE-the Society for American Baseball Research. He earned a degree in broadcast journalism and American political behavior from the University of Idaho.
