NDI Staff: Biographies

Staci Haag

Staci Haag is currently a Senior Program Manager for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, managing the Institute’s programming in the Gulf region.

She began her political career as a staff member on the Lynn Rivers for Congress campaign in 1994.  She has worked at all levels and types of campaigns across the country and has extensive training experience, both in the United States and abroad. 

Her campaign background consists of a variety of roles including finance director, deputy press secretary and field organizer for Congressional, Senate, Mayoral races and ballot initiative races across the country.

Staci’s organizational experience includes EMILY’s List and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  At the DCCC, she served as Financial Services Director during the 2004 cycle, managing a staff of five regional financial services directors and serving as a liaison between targeted races and the DC PAC community.

In addition to Staci’s extensive domestic experience, she also has experience in post-conflict electoral politics.  She spent 1 ½ years managing the women’s participation in political parties program for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, based in Baghdad, Iraq.   She has conducted trainings on a variety of areas including advocacy, fundraising, field, Election Day mobilization and party agent training in Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait and Sierra Leone.

Staci’s international election observation experience includes accreditation as an international observer in both Iraq and Sierra Leone.
