Kury Cobham is the resident country director for South Sudan. Previously, she worked at the World Bank for six years where she led the establishment and implementation of a multi-donor trust fund, the Global Fund for Youth Investment, and the Social Development Civil Society Fund, a $2.8 million per year grant-making portfolio involving 60 country offices. Before joining the World Bank, Kury held positions with NDI in Iraq, Nepal, Swaziland and Washington; and with USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Washington and Nigeria. She holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in Spanish from Macalester College.
