NDI Democracy Luncheon

NDI presented the 17th W. Averell Harriman Democracy Award and the third Madeleine K. Albright Grant at the NDI Democracy Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — the highest-ranking woman in American government — delivered the keynote address and joined us in honoring the achievements of this year’s awardees.

NDI Meets with Udar Party Leader Vitaliy Klychko

Representatives of the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform, or Udar, gave a presentation on Oct. 11 at NDI on their party history, values and plans for the 2012 parliamentary elections. The delegation was led by party leader and world heavyweight boxing champion, Vitaliy Klychko. Udar is a relatively new party in Ukraine, founded in the spring of 2010.  However, it is currently polling fourth with around 3.1 percent support nationally.
