Michael R. Steed is a founder and managing partner of Paladin. Mr. Steed provides management oversight of the firm’s operations and investments, and is responsible for the strategic direction of Paladin’s current and future activities. Prior to founding Paladin Capital, Mr. Steed served as the senior vice president of Investments at Ullico Inc., a financial services holding company. He is a founding board member of NDI.

Nancy Rubin served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Commission for Human Rights during the Clinton administration and is currently a presidential appointee to the White House Council for Community Solutions.

Molly Raiser is a former U.S. ambassador who served as chief of protocol of the United States from 1993 to 1997. She also served as the co-chair of the Women’s Campaign Fund, which is the oldest bipartisan women’s political action committee, from 1988 to 1993.

Robert G. Liberatore is senior transatlantic fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, working on issues surrounding the transatlantic business relationship and the U.S. presidential election. Previously, Mr. Liberatore served as senior vice president–global external affairs and public policy for Daimler AG (formerly DaimlerChrysler AG). In this role he was responsible for relations with governments and societies around the world and developing the company’s position on public policy issues.

Peter Kovler is director of the Marjorie Kovler Fund and founder of the Kovler Center for Victims of Torture. He is the chairman of the Center for National Policy, a nonpartisan public policy organization dedicated to engaging the nation’s leaders with practical policy solutions on global security. A former journalist, Mr. Kovler is the producer of several award-winning documentaries.

Shirley Robinson Hall has extensive experience as an independent consultant in the fields of development and marketing. During her tenure at NDI, she has been a panelist for the Women’s Empowerment Seminar in Kenya and has served as an official observer for the 1996 elections in Ghana. Ms. Hall served as United States public delegate to the United Nations 52nd General Assembly. Appointed by President Clinton in 1997, Ms. Hall worked with the Economic and Social Council.

Patrick Griffin is a partner in Griffin/Williams, a management consulting firm that helps public and private sector leaders navigate developmental transitions, organizational crisis and political challenges of Washington, D.C.

Sam Gejdenson is currently in charge of the firm Sam Gejdenson International. From 1981 to 2000, Mr. Gejdenson served in the U.S. House of Representatives from the 2nd Congressional District of Connecticut. Throughout his tenure in Congress, Mr. Gejdenson was a leader on human rights and democracy, ensuring that U.S. foreign policy reflected the values and compassion of the American people. He is known for his efforts to curb international trafficking in women and children and to promote self-help programs for the poor through microcredit assistance.

Thomas A. Daschle is a former U.S. senator and Senate majority leader from South Dakota. He is a special policy advisor at the law firm Alston & Bird LLP, visiting professor at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute at Georgetown University, and a distinguished senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. Mr. Daschle was the first U.S. senator to be a full-time economic development director. In 1994, he was chosen by his colleagues to serve as Democratic leader, and as a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
