Joe Gleason is the director of global security and operations at NDI. Since joining the Institute in 1998, he has provided security and logistical support to NDI programs worldwide. He manages the development and implementation of security management plans, procedures and policies, and coordinates the Institute’s management of safety and security incidents around the globe.
Mr. Gleason has conducted security assessments and opened offices in places such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sudan, and managed security and logistics for large-scale events including election-observation missions and the International Leaders Forum during the 2000 and 2004 Democratic National Conventions.
