The Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights, and Oversight will hold a hearing on Wendesday, June 9 entitled "Women as Agents of Change: Advancing the Role of Women in Politics and Civil Society." It will include testimony from NDI President Kenneth Wollack, who will provide his assessment of the economic, security and other benefits of women's participation in the political process. He will also provide an analysis of the major preconditions and best practices that foster women's political participation and leadership and will address how women are vital to peace operations, treaty negotiations, constitution development, and reconciliation and reconstruction efforts.
