Thomas A. Daschle [1]

Thomas A. Daschle is a former U.S. senator and Senate majority leader from South Dakota. He is a special policy advisor at the law firm Alston & Bird LLP, visiting professor at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute at Georgetown University, and a distinguished senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. Mr. Daschle was the first U.S. senator to be a full-time economic development director. In 1994, he was chosen by his colleagues to serve as Democratic leader, and as a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
