NDI will host a “Citizen Technologies and Electoral Accountability” conference in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 2 and 3. The Institute has invited domestic observation practitioners and leading technology experts from Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, and the United States to discuss the role new technologies can play in improving citizens’ ability to safeguard elections, improving the speed and impact of existing observation, and aiding in the mitigation of election-related violence. In addition to 12 civil society organizations from Kenya, participating technology firms include Google, Development Seed, Ushahidi and the African Elections Project.
