Will transportation between NDI hotels and events be provided?
NDI will coordinate group transportation between NDI hotels and events. A daily transportation schedule will be available at NDI/ILF information stations at each hotel and at the hospitality center each evening. Buses will depart all hotels each morning for the Belk Theatre. At the conclusion of the day’s activities, buses will return participants to their hotels. In addition to ground transportation, many venues in the uptown Charlotte area are in close walking proximity.
Participants who choose not to use NDI group transportation are expected to provide transportation at their own expense. The following are contacts for local Charlotte taxi and transportation services:
What is the dress code for ILF events?
Business casual attire is appropriate for all ILF events. Comfortable shoes are strongly advised.
What weather can I expect in Charlotte?
Weather in Charlotte during the month of September tends to be very warm, averaging 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius) during the day. Please also note that the final convention proceedings on Thursday evening will be held at the Bank of America Stadium, which is an open air venue. ILF guests should bring an umbrella for late-afternoon showers, which are common.
What kind of security measures should I expect at the Belk Theatre and other convention arenas?
Security measures imposed by local, state and federal law enforcement are designed to ensure the safety and security of all convention participants. These measures may include airport-style metal detectors, bag searches and identification checks. To assist the security process, participants should wear their NDI/ILF credential at all times. Bags, briefcases and purses may be searched before entering some venues. Large bags and laptops will not be permitted in NDI’s hospitality center or in the Time Warner Arena where the convention takes place. NDI will communicate any specific restrictions on bags or other security directives before departing for venues. NDI appreciates your understanding and patience with these security measures.
Who should I contact if I have any further questions?
If you have any remaining questions about ILF activities and your stay in Charlotte, please do not hesitate to contact your ILF coordinator.
