On Tuesday 11th October 2011 Liberians went to polls to vote in the first post-war democratic elections organized by Liberians. The general elections were contested by sixteen presidential candidates and over five hundred legislative candidates.
Andrea Levy presents the findings of the report in an event at NDI.
Highlighting a shift in Somali opinion over the last year, focus group research released by NDI shows that citizens have lost faith in their transitional institutions and are looking for new opportunities to provide input on how to move their country forward.

In Liberia, they are concentrating on activities aimed towards peace building and have come out with two separate societies, which are the National Committee for Elections Monitoring (NACEM) and the Civil Society Network (CSM) with support from National Democratic Institute (NDI) to monitor the elections.
