Zuzana Papazoski

Resident Director - Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia

Zuzana Papazoski is the National Democratic Institute’s (NDI) Resident Director for Central Europe, based in Poland.  Ms. Papazoski oversees the implementation of NDI projects in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary, including the regional Central Europe Democracy Initiative (CEDI). CEDI's goal is to reinforce inclusive governance and democratic renewal in Central Europe, by enabling political actors to strengthen their citizen engagement practices through improved communications strategies and outreach tools. A long-time NDI staff member, Ms. Papazoski also oversees NDI's Western Balkans Legislative Strengthening program, a multi-year effort to strengthen the lawmaking and oversight functions of Western Balkan parliaments, promoting transparency and accountability in national policymaking. Ms.Papazoski has demonstrated regional expertise through her work as a trainer, election monitor, and legislative consultant in the Western Balkans, Central Europe, and Eurasia in efforts undertaken with NDI, UNDP, OSCE/ODIHR, and Freedom House. Ms. Papazoski earned her master's in law from Comenius University in Bratislava. She is fluent in Czech, English, Slovak, and Polish, with a working knowledge of Macedonian and Serbian.
