During a phone conversation last week, a friend of mine who once interned in the offices of a former State Senator said to me: “Hey Darren, I have never been to Africa before, how does the congress or parliament work there?”

In response I said, “In Liberia, we call it the Legislature and it works just like the Congress in the USA. Now, if you are asking about the legislators, I’ll say they are just the same as the USA’s legislators; diverse. There are men and women, young and old, etc.”
