Mohammad Daud Kohi is NDI’s country program representative in Afghanistan. He has over 25 years of professional experience in international development, including in the design, management and implementation of democracy and governance programming. Since 2008, Kohi has served in leadership roles for NDI’s programs on subnational governance support, political party development, women’s political participation, electoral reform and civil society engagement. He also served key coordination roles for the Institute’s 2009 and 2010 international election observation missions to Afghanistan. Prior to joining NDI, Kohi worked for the United Nations in Afghanistan and several NGOs focused on humanitarian assistance, democratic governance and local development. He is fluent in Pashtu, Dari, English, Uzbeki and Turkish.
