Uganda Resident Senior Program Manager and Country Representative

Roseline Idele manages NDI’s programs supporting Ugandan efforts to strengthen democratic institutions and advance democratic reforms. Before her temporary post to NDI’s Uganda office in October 2019, Roseline worked as the senior program manager in the NDI Kenya office where she was responsible for program design and implementation of the Institute’s activities focused on enhancing women’s political participation through leadership, mentoring, and training programs.

Prior to joining NDI, Roseline worked with and conducted research on rule of law projects for several civil society organizations in Kenya and Ethiopia. She also worked briefly at the Kenyan-based Urgent Action Fund - Africa, a women’s human rights-focused organization. Roseline served as a volunteer researcher between 2002 to 2004 at the International Justice Missions tackling various human rights challenges including, female genital mutilation, early marriage, and sexual abuse cases. She has also worked as a trainee advocate with Ochieng’ Onyango, Kibet & Ohaga Advocates providing legal advice and attending court depositions, mediations and arbitrations on civil and commercial law. Roseline has a Bachelor of Law from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and certificates on electoral security training and political campaign training.
