Zuzana Papazoski

Resident Director - Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia

Zuzana Papazoski is the Resident Director for NDI in Poland and legislative consultant for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) programs. Zuzana manages the implementation of several NDI projects in Poland and the CEE region, including overseeing the regional Central Europe Democracy Initiative (CEDI). CEDI's goal is to enable political actors in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia to engage with one another other, along with experts from outside of the region,  on efforts to reinvigorate mainstream, democratic politics.  A long-time NDI staff member, Ms. Papazoski also oversees NDI's Western Balkans Legislative Strengthening program, a multi-year effort to strengthen the lawmaking and oversight functions of the Western Balkans' parliaments, promoting transparency and accountability in national policymaking. Ms.Papazoski has demonstrated regional expertise through her work as a trainer, election monitor, and legislative consultant in the Western Balkans, Central Europe and Eurasia and was a co-founder, legal advisor and board member of Civic Eye/Obcianske Oko, a Bratislava-based domestic election monitoring and civic advocacy organization. Ms. Papazoski earned her master's in law from Comenius University in Bratislava. She is fluent in Czech, English, Slovak and Polish, with a working knowledge of Macedonian and Serbian.
