NDI conducts public opinion research in Kosovo to ascertain public sentiment on important issues and to share public priorities and views as registered in the research with government, political, and civic leaders. This publication presents salient findings of NDI's national survey in March 2019, featuring trend analysis from previous surveys in 2018. The research shows that citizens desire reforms that will foster social cohesion, economic opportunity, and the rule of law. Tackling corruption cuts across all of these areas and remains at the forefront of citizen priorities. On dialogue with Serbia to normalize post-war relations, citizens seek greater transparency and are not in favor of border changes to bring about a resolution. Generally, citizens seek greater efforts of political leaders to foster consensus to bring policy changes that will improve their lives. In the face of these concerns, a majority of youth would leave the country if given the chance. Finally, a series of questions on disinformation shows that mainstream media remains the most trusted source of information, though citizens are cognizant of intentional reporting of "fake news".
