Lisa Oliveri
Lisa Oliveri serves as the National Democratic Institute’s Director of Global Risk Management, Security, and Operations.
Ms. Oliveri has extensive experience managing global safety and security functions for international non-government organizations, faith-based organizations, and academic institutions. Before joining NDI, Ms. Oliveri was the Director of Global Safety and Security at the Education Development Center (EDC), a global nonprofit that advances lasting solutions to improve education, promote health, and expand economic opportunity. Prior to that role, Ms. Oliveri served as Director of Security at the American Friends Service Committee and led the development of the organization’s first security management program.
Prior to her career in security, Lisa was a science teacher with an interest in international development and healthcare ethics. Ms. Oliveri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Trinity College and a Master of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from Fordham University. Ms. Oliveri is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and is a dedicated volunteer, mentor, and advocate for young professionals and women in security. Ms. Oliveri is the Chair of ASIS International’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) Center Board and past Chair of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) International Development Sector Committee.
Ms. Oliveri has received multiple honors in the security field, including being named an IFSEC Global Top Influencer in Security and Fire 2021 and being featured in Security Magazine's Women in Security 2021 program.
