Dickson Omondi is NDI's resident country director in Kenya. In his role, Omondi is responsible for providing support to build accountable, inclusive and transparent political parties in Kenya. Prior to this, Omondi worked for NDI’s specialized election team based in Washington, D.C. that is responsible for supporting the Institute’s electoral integrity programs across the globe. Omondi has been at the forefront of assisting civil society groups to implement systematic methods of election observation and helping political parties address inclusion of youth and women. He has worked on a variety of political party and civil society strengthening programs in Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
Omondi has participated in NDI international election observation and pre-election assessment missions in Nigeria, Ethiopia and Tanzania. Before joining NDI, Omondi worked with the League of Kenya Voters. Omondi graduated from the United States International University with a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations. He holds a Bachelor of Education Degree awarded by Kenyatta University and is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of Nairobi.
