In honor of its three decades supporting those who share a common desire to live in free societies that recognize basic human rights, NDI has published a 30th anniversary report highlighting its work in nearly every corner of every continent to advance the promise of democracy.

Workshop sessions focused on: fundamental principles of free, fair and transparent elections; the role of domestic observers in the electoral process; election-day procedures and reporting; and, recruiting and deploying observers.

Major program activities included: a national telephone survey to determine voters' policy priorities; a national roundtable with civic activists to formulate policy recommendations on key issues; the development of a political party platform comparison tool; a national voter education and engagement campaign; and skills-building and planning sessions for a newly-formed citizen election monitoring network.
