Ekiti, Nigeria – A Pre-Election Assessment Mission (PEAM) deployed to Ekiti State today to watch the voting process for the state’s gubernatorial elections on July 14, 2018. The PEAM, jointly led by the International Republican Institute (IRI) and National Democratic Institute (NDI), will evaluate Nigeria’s preparations for the 2019 general elections. The high-level delegation arrived in Nigeria on July 12 and will present findings and recommendations from its assessment at a press conference in Abuja on July 20, 2018.

This preliminary statement is offered by the National Democratic Institute’s (NDI) election observer delegation for Liberia’s 2017 presidential and legislative elections. The purpose of the mission is to support Liberia’s efforts to conduct peaceful, credible polls; impartially and accurately assess the electoral process to date; and offer recommendations to improve future elections.

Monrovia, Liberia – The National Democratic Institute (NDI) will release findings from its international election observation mission for the 2017 presidential and legislative Liberian elections at 11:30 am on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Royal Grand Hotel.

This statement is offered by an international delegation organized by the National Democratic Institute (NDI). The delegation’s purpose was to accurately and impartially assess electoral preparations in advance of the October local elections; review the broader political environment; examine factors that could affect the integrity of the electoral process; and offer any recommendations that could advance dialogue and consensus-building toward peaceful, credible elections and public confidence in the process. In August, NDI will deploy a team of long-term observers.
