"Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has reiterated his promise that he wouldn't stand for another term and would leave office in 2013, the government-run Saba news Agency reported.

"During his meeting with Leslie Campbell, head of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Saleh assured the Americans about his planned leave by the coming presidential election and will remain shouldering his responsibilities until he hands power to his predecessor. Saleh's assurances come as many media source quoted Saleh as saying he would only leave if he were defeated in an election."
