To bring awareness to the factors that impact radicalization, NDI supported Niger’s National Center for Security and Strategic Studies (Centre National d’Etudes Stratégiques et de Sécurité - CNESS) as it undertook a study on the vulnerabilities to radicalization among youth in Niger. The study was carried out by a team of consultants who worked with regional field researchers to conduct interviews with 2,376 young people aged 18 to 40.

Forty-four young activists from across Iraq’s political landscape have joined together to craft policy solutions to address the pressing concerns of the country’s marginalized communities. Comprised of women, youth, and minority representatives from 10 political parties and five civil society organizations, the 44 activists mirror Iraq’s complex sectarian landscape.

The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN), as part of its comprehensive effort to observe the 2013 harmonised elections, deployed more than 7,000 observers to every province and constituency in the country.

BLANTYRE - As of 9:30 a.m. it is clear from reports from MESN Observers that there the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is experiencing challenges across the country with the delivery of polling station materials that is delaying the opening of a substantial number polling stations.

BLANTYRE - MESN Observers report that while a significant number of polling stations opened late across the country, particular in southern region as previously reported by MESN, that as of 8:00am at least 85% of polling stations were open and that as of mid-day at least 95% were open.
