TBILISI - Poll results released today by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and CRRC Georgia show a growing disconnect between citizens and elected officials in Georgia. People mostly expect MPs to serve their party’s interests (75 percent) and their own interests (55 percent), over those of citizens (41 percent), with results even less favorable in Tbilisi.

NDI surveys public opinion to help Georgian stakeholders diagnose and address issues of public concern by providing accurate, unbiased and statistically-sound data. This poll aims to capture the most relevant information to foster the development of responsive policies and governance.

TBILISI – The National Democratic Institute offers this final report in the spirit of international cooperation and respect for Georgians’ democratic aspirations. The report is the culmination of an observation effort that included a pre-election assessment mission, which issued a statement on July 21; a team of long-term observers and analysts who observed the process from late August to mid-November and published an interim report on October 2; and an election day delegation, which issued a statement on October 22.
