Concerns surrounding the economy dominated the conversation during NDI’s most recent focus group discussions. The focus groups reveal that citizens view both relations with Russia and Georgia's integration to the European Union through an economic advantages lens. NDI conducts focus groups to complement its nationwide public opinion polling and applies the results to help local partners diagnose, understand and address citizens’ concerns. NDI organized two focus groups of mixed age, gender and employment status in Tbilisi, Telavi, Batumi, Marneuli and Akhalkalaki during the period May 22-29, 2017. The latest focus group research explores citizens’ attitudes towards democracy, Europe, Russia, social security and anti-western propaganda.
