National Democratic Institute Congratulates Anthony Banbury on Being Selected to Lead the International Foundation for Electoral Systems

Washington, DC  – The following statement was issued by National Democratic Institute President (NDI) Derek Mitchell on the selection of former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Anthony Banbury to succeed William Sweeney, Jr. as president and CEO of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES):

“Anthony Banbury is an excellent choice to lead IFES into the future at this critical moment for democracy around the world. I look forward to partnering with him in our shared mission to support every citizen’s right to participate in fair and credible elections.”
