Monday, December 3, 2018

The National Democratic Institute extends its heartfelt condolences to the Bush family on the passing of President George Herbert Walker Bush, 41st President of the United States of America. We remember his life and legacy as one of America’s most dedicated, accomplished and honorable public servants, and mourn his loss. His endless support for democratic development across the globe ensured bipartisan collaboration was a priority during his administration.

“George H.W. Bush exemplified the values and commitment to service which made his generation great, and which enabled democracy to prevail over Fascism and Communism. I was honored to benefit from his advice and to call him a friend. He will be dearly missed, but I hope that his life will continue to inspire Americans and freedom-loving people all over the world. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family at this time of sorrow and remembrance,” said NDI Chairman, Madeleine K. Albright.
