Statement of the NDI Pre-Election Assessment Mission to Liberia's 2017 Presidential and Legislative Elections | February 20-24, 2017
The National Democratic Institute (NDI) deployed an international delegation to Liberia from February 20 - 24, 2017. The purpose of the mission was to assess preparations for Liberia’s October 2017 elections, including the ongoing voter registration process, and to support Liberia’s efforts to conduct peaceful, credible polls. This mission is the first activity in NDI’s comprehensive international election observation.

JOINT PRE-ELECTION STATEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSIONS IN GHANA
Five international election observation missions are in Ghana for the December 7, 2016 parliamentary and presidential elections: the African Union (AU), Commonwealth, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), European Union (EU) and National Democratic Institute (NDI).
Today the heads of these missions put out a joint statement calling for peaceful elections and reiterating their commitment to the democratic process in Ghana.

Georgia’s October 2016 parliamentary elections were characterized by an open political environment, a competitive campaign, overall results that were validated by credible observers, and some underlying problems that need concerted attention. NDI's final report draws attention to a set of recommendations that, if pursued, could contribute to greater public confidence in the approaching local and presidential elections.
