IRI / NDI Joint Technical Assessment Team Arrives in Bangladesh Ahead of the January 7 Elections

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute (IRI) joint team arrived in Bangladesh last week to conduct a limited technical assessment focused on potential electoral violence conditions before, during, and after the country’s January 7, 2024 parliamentary elections.

Polish and Ukrainian Attitudes on the Ukrainian Community in Poland

Between May and June 2023, NDI conducted 14 qualitative focus groups, and 700 face-to-face and 700 CATI interviews with Polish and Ukrainian residents living in seven of Poland’s largest cities, which include Białystok, Katowice, Łódź, Lublin, Rzeszów, Wrocław, Kraków. The interviews and focus groups explored attitudes toward the Ukrainian refugee population in Poland, along with how Ukrainian citizens experience the cities they live in.

Statement on the Arrest Warrant Issued by the Hong Kong Government Against Staff Member Joey Siu

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) has been informed of the issuance of an arrest warrant for Joey Siu, an esteemed NDI colleague and a prominent civil society activist, along with four other pro-democracy activists. This action by the Hong Kong government follows recent arrest warrants issued against eight other distinguished Hong Kong democracy activists living abroad.

NDI POLL: Georgian citizens remain committed to EU membership; Nation united in its dreams and shared challenges

TBILISI – Poll results released today by the National Democratic Institute (NDI or the Institute) and CRRC Georgia reveal that Georgian citizens are bound together by a shared commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The new survey, which was conducted before the European Commission’s November 8th decision, reaffirms the unwavering dedication of the Georgian people to European integration, with an impressive 79 percent expressing support for EU membership.
