Washington, D.C. -- The National Democratic Institute (NDI) today congratulated Ambassador Mark Green, former president of the International Republican Institute (IRI), for his confirmation to be administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). A former congressman, ambassador and leader of the Initiative for Global Development, Green has extensive experience in, and deep knowledge of development, diplomacy and democracy.

NDI congratulates Daniel Twining on becoming president of the International Republican Institute. Twining, currently counselor and, previously, director of the Asia Program at the Washington D.C.-based German Marshall Fund, brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having served in the Congress, the State Department and the office of the U.S. Trade Representative. He also has taught at Georgetown University.
NDI Sends International Observer Mission to Kenya’s August 8 General Elections
NAIROBI, KENYA -- The National Democratic Institute (NDI) announced that it will deploy an international election delegation to Kenya to observe the August 8 general elections.
The delegation will conduct its assessment in accordance with Kenyan law and the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation. Leading NDI’s international and bipartisan mission (in alphabetical order) will be:
