NDI and the Kofi Annan Foundation Deploy Joint International Delegation to Assess the Pre-Election Environment Ahead of Legislative Elections in Guinea
Conakry, Guinea – The National Democratic Institute (NDI) and Kofi Annan Foundation (KAF) will send a joint international delegation to Guinea to assess preparations for legislative elections currently scheduled for February 2020. The assessment will take place from December 9-13, 2019.

WASHINGTON - The National Democratic Institute noted the People’s Republic of China announcement that it will sanction international non-governmental organizations, including the National Democratic Institute (NDI), in response to the recently passed U.S. legislation focused on human rights and democracy in Hong Kong. NDI Condemns the Murder of Mozambican Election Observer
NDI condemns the murder on October 7 of Anastacio Matavele, in XaiXai, Mozambique, eight days before national elections. Anastacio was the leader of a nonpartisan election observation organization in Mozambique and reportedly had just participated in an observer preparation session for the Civil Society Training Center and the NGO League of Mozambique (JOINT).
