On May 18, founding NDI board of directors member and long-time board secretary Marvin Weissberg passed away at age 94, surrounded by his family. Marvin had served on NDI's board for many years, and was an outspoken advocate for human rights, human dignity and progress.

Many countries have seen their democratic institutions severely weakened.
