NDI Research on Opportunities and Challenges Facing Ukraine’s Democratic Transition
Ukrainians remain overwhelmingly united on the key issues at stake in their country. NDI public opinion research, conducted in November and December 2016, shows that the majority of the citizens surveyed see Russian influence as negative and are unwilling to give up Ukraine’s sovereignty, even if it means an end to the conflict.

Plan of Goals 2016-2018: A citizen proposal (Júarez, Chihuahua, Mexico)
In 2016, NDI worked with the Juárez Assembly of Organizations (Asamblea de Organizaciones de Juárez, the Assembly), a coalition of local organizations working on municipal issues, to draft a citizen proposal with 38 goals for the next Ciudad Juárez government. Officials elected in 2016 elections have since reported the incorporation of these goals into the 2017 Municipal Development Plan (Plan Municipal de Desarrollo, PMD).
